Morning Call: Fresher north & west - Hot south & east, Jul 24 - 05:44

Hot southeast, patchy rain northern and western areas of England & Wales, fresher north and west Good morning, We've got some cloud and a narrow band of patchy rain extending through northern England and into Wales this morning. The area is slipping slowly eastwards through the day, reaching northeast England, the western Midlands and eastern Wales this afternoon. Hot again across much of England and eastern Wales, the heat triggering isolated thunderstorms in the southeast this afternoon.

Much fresher to the north and west of the country with sunny spells and mostly dry weather. Scattered showers affecting western Scotland with more cloud across the whole of the island of Ireland but mostly dry. Simon Email me at simon.keeling@weatheronline.co.uk
