Week ahead: Patchy rain in west - Hot southeast, Jul 23 - 10:58

Mixed weather, most rain in the west, hot in the southeast The weather stays mixed this week. Most rainfall affecting Ireland and the west of Scotland. Eastern and southern areas are likely to be drier and will be hot. The risk of some thunderstorms at the end of the week. Tending to turning drier into the earlier stages of next week.

For the weather for the next few days click here Thursday 26/7/18 Low pressure to the west of Ireland and Scotland on Thursday bringing the threat of some heavier rain to Ireland, this reaching western Scotland later. Dry and hot for the rest of the UK. Plenty of sunshine and just a low risk of an isolated shower forming in southeast England. Highs at 30C in southeast England, 19C in western Ireland.

Friday 27/7/18 Lower pressure is expected to be drifting around eastern areas of the country on Friday bringing the risk of some thundery showers or even some rain. Weak fronts bringing some showery rain to Ireland, Wales and the west of the UK. Tops near 32C in southeast England, 18C in western Ireland and Scotland.

Saturday 28/7/18 Front clears eastern parts of the UK on Saturday morning taking some thundery outbreaks of rai with it. Fresher, brighter and drier weather follows from the west. A deepening area of low pressure west of Ireland may bring wind and rain here. Highs at 29C in southeast England, 18C in that fresher air to the west.

Sunday 29/7/18 Low pressure close to Ireland on Sunday may bring rain and stronger winds. Eastern and southern areas drier with some brighter spells here. Highs at 29C in East Anglia, 17C in western Ireland and Scotland.

Monday 30/7/18 Low pressure to the northwest of Scotland on Monday. A weak front may bring some patchy rain in Scotland, England and Wales. Sunnier and drier weather arrives from the west whilst southeastern areas stay warm and sunny. Highs at 30C in the southeast, 18C in western Scotland and Ireland. Tuesday 31/7/18 A low risk of a thunderstorm in the east at first. Fresher and drier weather spreading from the west. Highs at 27C in southeast England, 19 to 25C elsewhere.
