Week ahead: Hot southeast - Dry & fresh west, Jul 22 - 16:05

Hot southeast and mainly dry, fresher with some rain in the west A mixed week ahead. Much dry weather in eastern and southern areas with sunny spells and hot conditions. Fronts moving into the west bringing some outbreaks of rain in western areas where it will be fresher too. Hints of similar conditions into next week.

For the weather for the next few days click here Wednesday 25/7/18 A weak front extends northeast to southwest over England on Wednesday. This brings cloud and a few showery bursts of rain along the line of the front. East Anglia and southeast England are dry with sunny spells and feeling hot. Fresher, drier and brighter in northwest England, Scotland, western Wales and most of Ireland. Highs at 18C in western Scotland, 32C in southeast England.

Thursday 26/7/18 Higher pressure east of the UK on Thursday with low pressure west of Ireland. This pushes fronts eastwards which may bring some cloud and outbreaks of light rain to Ireland and the west of the UK. Central and eastern parts are expected to stay dry with lots of sunshine. Highs at 33C in the southeast, 17C in northern Scotland, more widely 22 to 28C.

Friday 27/7/18 A weak front slips into northern England and Wales on Friday bringing some cloud and a few spots of rain. Scattered showers in western Scotland, otherwise dry. Fair for most of the rest of England and Wales with good sunny spells here. Highs potentially to 34C in eastern England, 17C in western Ireland.

Saturday 28/7/18 Front clears eastern parts of the UK on Saturday morning taking some thundery outbreaks of rai with it. Fresher, brighter and drier weather follows from the west . A chance of some rain in Northern Ireland and western Scotland where it will be breezier too. Highs at 29C in southeast England, 18C in that fresher air to the west.

Sunday 29/7/18 A fresher day on Sunday as a ridge of high pressure builds. Dry for most with good spells of sunshine. Highs at 19 to 27C. Monday 30/7/18 The risk of some rain in Ireland and western Scotland on Monday as low pressure pushes a front east. Higher pressure holding on in the south and east bringing fair weather here. Highs at 17C in Ireland and western Scotland, 29C in southeast England.
