A change ahead, chilly nights and days early in the week There are some signs of a change in the forecast later in the week with models now suggesting a more unsettled spell of weather. Out thoughts are this is likely to be in more northern and western parts whilst the south and east tend to stay drier. Before then there will be dry conditions for many although it wil become chilly.
For the weather for the next few days click here Wednesday 5/9/18 A ridge of high pressure extends over much of England, Wales and Ireland on Wednesday. This brings a fair day after a chilly start for many. There will be a brisk wind affecting southern and eastern England with some cloud here too and the risk of a shower on eastern coasts. Increasing cloud in Scotland and Ireland as a front moves in from the east bringing some showery rain. Temperatures at 19C in central England, 15 to 18C elsewhere.
Thursday 6/9/18 Lower pressure over the UK and Ireland on Thursday. This brings the threat of cloud and some outbreaks of showery rain for many areas. Most of the rain to the north. The south of England may stay dry with some sunny periods. Confidence is low. A cool day with temperatures around 14 to 18C.
Friday 7/9/18 Low pressure is close to the east of the country on Friday. A further threat of cloud and periods of rain, most in the north and east of Scotland and eastern England. Drier in the west and south. Confidence stays low. Highs at 13 to 18C.
Saturday 8/9/18 There is much uncertainty in the forecast details for Saturday. It does seem likely that a more mixed or unsettled day will occur with low pressure close by. This will bring cloud and outbreaks of showery rain with it. A few places should be drier, probably in the south. Highs at 14 to 18C.
Sunday 9/9/18 A more southwest flow may become established on Sunday. This could bring some cloud and outbreaks of rain and drizzle to western coasts and hills. Tending to the drier and brighter in the east and south although confidence in the detail is very low at this stage. A milder day for many at 15 to 19C. Monday 10/9/18 A southwest flow may bring some rain and cloud to Ireland and western Scotland. Western coasts of Wales and southwest England could see some drizzle but more eastern and southern areas should be drier. Highs at 15 to 21C.
