A cold weekend then warmer in the south next week but windy for all Higher pressure does dominate the weather this week and this should bring several days of dry weather over much of England, Wales and Ireland. tending to be cloudier in Scotland with rain at times. Windy on Tuesday and Wednesday for all. Tending to be cool in northern Scotland but becoming warmer in southern England after a cold weekend.

For the weather for the next few days click here Sunday 30/9/18 Fronts passing south through the UK and Ireland on Sunday will be turning to wind into a colder northwesterly direction. The fronts bringing some showery spots of rain with them, most on windward facing coasts and hills. More cloud than on recent days for most, although still with some bright or sunny spells, especially where sheltered from the breeze by higher ground. Heaviest and most frequent of the showers always around northern and western coasts. Feeling particularly cold in the wind with temperatures reaching 10C in northern Scotland, 17C in southeast England.

Monday 1/10/18 High pressure to the south of Ireland on Monday extends a ridge through most of the UK. This brings a cold day with broken cloud and sunny spells, the best of them to the west. Scattered showers in the east where it will be feeling cold. Increasing cloud in western Scotland and northwest Ireland later as fronts bring patchy rain. Highs at 8 to 14C.

Tuesday 2/10/18 Lower pressure north of Scotland and high pressure south of the UK on Tuesday. This leads to a strong, gusty westerly flow for all. There will be some fronts tracking east bringing some cloud and outbreaks of patchy rain, this being more persistent on western coasts and hills. Some brighter spells to the lee of high ground. Highs at a much milder 20C in southern England, 10C in northern Scotland.

Wednesday 3/10/18 High pressure stays ot the south on Wednesday with low pressure to the north. Fronts bring rain into Scotland, most in the west. Elsewhere it should be dry. Always more cloud over western coasts and hills, but drier and sunnier to the east. Warm in the east at 21C, staying cold in northern Scotland at 8C.

Thursday 4/10/18 Little changes on Thursday with high pressure to the south and low pressure to the north. A weak front gives some cloud and spots of rain to Ireland and northern England. To the north of the front the weather will be cool, bright and dry. To the south it wil be mild with sunny spells and broken cloud. Highs at 23C in southern England, 10C in northern Scotland. Friday 5/10/18 The risk of more unsettled weather on Friday as low pressure takes control. This could bring wind and rain although there is currently much uncertainty in the detail. Highs at 11 to 19C.
