Sunshine best in the west Good morning, Another chilly day lies ahead, with a few showers, these most frequent in the east & north-east. Many central & western areas will be substantially dry. A damp east to south-easterly airflow prevails, resulting in generally cloudy skies. Rather murky in places, with some fog across the hills. Best chance for sunny breaks will be to the west of high ground, particularly western coasts.
Snow will be confined to the mountains of Scotland, focused on the eastern Highlands. Following a frosty start, today's top temperatures will lift slowly to around 4 or 5C, or locally nearer 8C in south-west England. Have a great day. Garry
