It will be a cloudy, wet and windy day as a cold front pushes eastward across the British Isles. All areas will be affected by this evening. Good morning, Tuesday will be a largely overcast and wet day for the British Isles. The morning will start cloudy for all while a band of rain will cover Ireland, western and northern Scotland, western fringes of Wales and southwest England. Gale to strong gale force southerly winds will affect most areas. It will feel mild however with temperatures at 7 to 10C.
The rain will continue to push eastward reaching easternmost areas by the early evening. The heaviest rain will fall over the Western Isles, the Lake District and southwest Wales. The strongest winds will always lie just to the east of the heaviest rain and will be over the North Sea by the early evening though there could still be some very strong gusts over eastern areas. High temperatures on Tuesday will reach 8 to 11C.
Skies will clear in the west through the evening leaving a cloud-free end to the day for Ireland, western Wales and southwest England. Some showers may linger through the evening particularly across England and western coastal areas. Winds will ease too.
Have a great day! Claire
