Cold and dry, briefly milder and windy but then colder and drier again next week High pressure is going to be dominating the weather through much of the week, although lower pressure briefly intervenes early next week. It is likely to be cold, frosty and mostly dry for the next few days ahead of lower cloud and some drizzle affecting western coasts. Windier for a time early next week, before turning colder and drier as the week progresses.
For the weather for the next few days click here Sunday 6/1/19 Changes on Sunday as a weak front passes southeast through Scotland, northern and western Ireland. The front brings outbreaks of rain with it, sleet and snow over the hills of Scotland. Western coasts and hills of Wales and England will have lower cloud and some drizzle as wel as mist and murk. More central and eastern areas also have increasing low cloud and some mist. A few bright spells in southern and eastern areas. Highs at 4 or 5C in East Anglia and southeast England, 10C in Ireland.
Monday 7/1/19 High pressure stays over the south of the country on Monday. Morning mist and fog patches in England and Wales slowly clearing. Increased breeze in Ireland and Scotland, dry and bright in the east but some cloud and patchy drizzle in the west. Highs around 4C in northern Scotland, 10C in southern and western areas.
Tuesday 8/1/19 An area of low pressure may pass to the north of Scotland on Tuesday. This brings strong winds, cloud and some rain pushing south. A risk of gales in the north. Highs at 10C in southern England, 5C in northern Scotland.
Wednesday 9/1/19 Higher pressure builds to the west, low pressure to the east on Wednesday. This allows a colder northerly flow to develop in alla reas. Brighter with sunny spells and dry for many. The risk of some wintry showers affecting eastern coasts. Highs at 4C in the east, 7C in the west.
Thursday 10/1/19 High pressure may remain in the west on Thursday although confidence is low. The mainly northerly winds remains. A risk of some wintry showers in the east of England. Drier in the west. Cold for all, highs at 3 to 6C. Friday 11/1/19 High pressure remains on Friday. This brings a cold day with the risk of some fog in the north and west. Drier in the east although more cloud here. Cold for all at 2 to 5C.
