Good morning, A chilly start for England, Scotland and Wales on Tuesday morning which will lead to some frost and, in the south and east, some patches of mist or fog. Some patchy light rain around too for northwestern parts of Ireland and Scotland though this should ease through the morning. A windy start to the day too for northwestern areas with winds reaching gale force for a time for the Western Isles.
As temperatures rise any mist or fog patches should burn off to leave a largely dry and bright day in the south and east. Cloud will build from the northwest bringing further light rain across Ireland and Scotland and into northwestern parts of England too through the afternoon. The strongest winds will become confined to the far north. Temperatures will reach from 9 to 12C for most towns and cities on Tuesday afternoon, perhaps even higher in some favoured locations.
Through the evening, light rain will become confined to the northern half of the island of Ireland and northwestern England. It will continue to be rather windy for the north of Scotland and the Northern Isles. Elsewhere, a calm but overcast evening.
Have a good day! Claire
