Wet and windy for some this week, the milder and drier next week An unsettled end to this week as low pressure brings cloud and rain together with some strong winds. There are indications of higher pressure building to the south of the country next week allowing for drier weather in much of England and Wales. Fronts are likely to be bringing cloud and rain to the north and west at times.

This brings cloud and rain, most of it in the west. A risk of gales, especially in the west and south with low cloud shrouding the hills here. Northeastern parts of Scotland and eastern England start the day dry, but then wind and rain arriving. Highs at 6C in northern Scotland, 12C in southern and western areas
Saturday 9/2/19 Low pressure northeast of Scotland on Saturday. A strong west to southwest wind affects alla reas as rain clears east. It becomes brighter with sunny spells and some showers. Most of the showers in western areas. Highs around 7 to 10C.
Sunday 10/2/19 A mixed day with low pressure sweeping east. This takes rain and strong winds with it. The rain could be heavy at times and may turn winter on northern hills later as colder air arrives. Highs at 5 to 10C.
Monday 11/2/19 High pressure builds on Monday. This brings a milder day with sunny spells although there is likely to be an early frost. Rain may affect western Scotland with some drizzle in western Ireland. Highs at 3 to 8C.
Tuesday 12/2/19 Pressure remains high through Tuesday to the south of the country. Fronts affect Ireland and Scotland bringing some rain and drizzle here, most in the west. Fair for much of England and eastern Wales, but low cloud and drizzle in the west. Highs at 9 to 11C. Wednesday 13/2/19 Pressure stays high to the south of the country bringing plenty of dry weather. Sunny spells for much of England and eastern Wales as well as eastern Scotland. Western coasts and hills will be troubled by low cloud and drizzle. Highs at a mild 9 to 12C.
