Week ahead: Warmer later in week - Patchy drizzle in west, Apr 27 - 09:25

Patchy rain and drizzle in the west at first, then dry with good spells of sunsine and warmer A mixed week ahead with some bits and pieces of rain around. Tending to become warmer and dry later in the week with an increasing risk of some mist and fog patches affecting western areas.

For the weather for the next few days click here Tuesday 30/4/19 A weak ridge of high pressure persists in the east of the UK through Tuesday. There will be dry weather and sunny spells here. Fronts to the west leading to increasing cloud with some outbreaks of rain across eastern and northern Ireland, western England, Wales and southwest Scotland. Some cloud shrouding the hills in western areas too. Highs at 14C in Ireland and Wales, more generally 17 to 20C for the brighter parts of England and Scotland.

Wednesday 1/5/19 Rather cloudy through Wednesday as a slack pressure flow affects all areas. Fronts extend from north to south bringing some spots of rain and drizzle, most over the hills. It may turn brighter in the west. Highs at 13 to 18C.

Thursday 2/5/19 A more northerly flow developing through Thursday. This brings sunny spells and showers, most of the showers affecting north and eastern areas. The best sunshine west and south. Highs at 11 to 17C.

Friday 3/5/19 Higher pressure is likely to give fair conditions with some good spells of sunshine. Cloud and some drizzle in the far west of Ireland. Highs at 14 to 20C.

Saturday 4/5/19 High pressure to the east on Saturday. Lower pressure to the west of Ireland bringin cloud and some outbreaks of drizzle in western Ireland and western Scotland. Fair elsewhere with sunny spells and becoming warm. Highs at 17 to 22C. Sunday 5/5/19 Higher pressure stays to the east with sunshine and warm weather. Lower pressure to the west with cloud and outbreaks of rain. Highs at 18 to 22C.
