A rather mixed day of scattered showers and longer spells of rain. Feeling cold in the north but staying milder in the south. Good morning, A cool start to the day for most with some early morning mist and fog patches around. These should clear to leave a mixture of rain, showers and sunny spells. Rain will be concentrated over northeast Scotland and southwest Ireland first thing while an area of scattered showers will be focused over northern England. Through the morning, rain will spread eastward across Ireland and will sink southwestward across Scotland and into the northeast of England.
Rain will spread across Ireland into the afternoon while eastern parts of Scotland and England will also be affected by a band of rain. Elsewhere will see a mixture of broken cloud and scattered showers. High temperatures reaching just 7 to 8C in the north of Scotland, 15 or 16C in the southeast of England.
Rain will ease for most as we go into Thursday evening but could hold on for longer for some parts of northern England. The southwest too will see a band of rain moving in from Ireland later in the day.
