Low pressure takes control for a time into the middle stages of next week and that brings heavier showers and stronger winds as well as cooler weather. Hints of pressure rising again later in the week which will allow the weather to settle down.

Sunday 26/5/19 An area of rain passing east through the UK and Ireland on Sunday. The rain is likely to be rather showery. Becoming brighter to the west with some showers, a few of them heavy. Temperatures at 12C in northern Scotland, 22C in southeast England.
Monday 27/5/19 Lower pressure to the west of Scotland on Monday. Showers affecting western areas, these more isolated to the east. The showers could merge to longer spells of rain in western Scotland and Ireland. Highs at 13 to 19C.
Tuesday 28/5/19 Low pressure dominates on Tuesday. Showers are likely to be more widespread and heavy, perhaps merging to longer spells of rain. A risk that the showers could be thundery at times. Highs at 10 to 18C.
Wednesday 29/5/19 Low pressure to the east on Wednesday. This brings a northwest flow with a mix of sunshine and showers, some of them heavy. Highs at 10C in northern Scotland, 21C in southern England. Thursday 30/5/19 Pressure may build over the south of the country on Thursday bringing sunny spells and dry conditions. Lower pressure close to northern Scotland bringing some showers. Highs at 13 to 21C.
