Areas affected...southern Georgia

Concerning...Severe Thunderstorm Watch 425...

Valid 230110Z - 230215Z

The severe weather threat for Severe Thunderstorm Watch 425
continues.

SUMMARY...An organized cluster of strong to severe storms has
increased forward speed and will approach the southern extent of WW
425 over the next hour. A new downstream WW is being considered.

DISCUSSION...An ongoing cluster of severe storms just south of
Macon, GA has organized into a forward-propagating linear complex
while accelerating southeastward along a remnant outflow boundary
from an earlier MCS now over GA/SC coastal waters. These storms
continue to migrate into a strongly unstable airmass characterized
by 3000-4000 J/kg SBCAPE, which should continue to support a hail
and wind-damage threat as storms continue to move southward -
especially if they retain organization. These storms will approach
the southern extent of WW 425 over the next 1-2 hours, though
concerns exist regarding interactions with downstream convection
just ahead of the complex. If these storms can maintain their
organization and severity, a new downstream Severe Thunderstorm
Watch may be needed.
