Areas affected...Northeast Indiana and northwest/north central Ohio

Concerning...Severe Thunderstorm Watch 306...308...

Valid 012354Z - 020130Z

The severe weather threat for Severe Thunderstorm Watch 306, 308
continues.

SUMMARY...Severe storms will continue through the evening in
northeast Indiana and northwest/north central Ohio. The primary
threat will continue to be large hail, but occasional damaging wind
gusts are possible.

DISCUSSION...A messy cluster of storms exists from northeast Indiana
southeastward to north central Ohio on the western edge of the cold
pool from earlier convection and on the eastern edge of the steeper
(>8C/km) EML. Expect storms to continue in this area for the next
few hours with a continued threat for mostly large hail. Eventually,
these storms are expected to weaken as the low-level wind profile
veers and the boundary layer stabilizes after dark.

The 02Z watch expiration time appears okay for now, but an extension
in time for an hour or two may be needed if any of these stronger
storms persist beyond 02Z.
