Low pressure is expected to dominate the weather over the UK this up coming week with outbreaks of rain in places as well as brisk winds at times. Drier towards the south where high pressure remains close by. A generally unsettled picture is set for the week ahead as a conveyor belt of Atlantic low pressure systems track eaastwards and across the UK at times through the forecast period. There will be some drier interludes, these currently looking most likely later on in the week but they will be relatively brief.

For the weather for the next few days click here Sunday 28/6/20 Staying within a westerly flow and under a trough will bring rather unsettled conditions to the UK on Sunday. With the low pressure centre just off of northwest Scotland expect the northern part of the UK to see outbreaks of rain, some heavy across Scotland. Elsewhere, it does look to be comparatively drier but breezy and feeling cooler in that westerly wind. Western parts of the country as well as Ireland will see blustery showers which on that brisk wind are likely to reach across to eastern parts through the day. That ridging high pressure over France, howeveer, stays close by and should see showers largely die out across England and Wales through the evening and overnight. Highs around 17-21C. Cooler in the northwest at 16C.

Monday 29/6/20 The south is expected to stay largely dry and fine thanks to the ridging high pressure. Further north and across Northern Ireland as well as northwest England, with low pressure still the main feature do expect to see some outbreaks rain, the rain heavy at times across Scotland. Breezy too across northern parts. Into the evening there is also the risk of southern and central Ireland getting cloudy with the chance of rain pushing in from the Atlantic overnight. Slightly warmer than yesterday in the south with highs around 22C but cooler further north and west with highs around 16-18C.

Tuesday 30/6/20 Tuesday looks to be within a complex low pressure situation, whereby a fast moving area of low pressure will track eastwards across Wales and central southern England through the morning bringing cloudy skies and spells of rain to these areas. However, the rain will clear with some showers developing behind. Meanwhile, another area of low pressure circulates over Northern Ireland and will bring unsettled and wet conditions to the northern part of the UK; western parts first then eastern areas later on. The low pressure will dampen any possible rise in temperatures with highs in the southeast up to 21C but elsewhere 15-19C.

Wednesday 1/7/20 The UK remains under the trough midweek and will bring outbreaks of rain. Later on in the day high pressure is forecast to ridge northwards again allowing for drier conditions towards the end of the day. Winds are forecast to turn more northerly around the low pressure and temperatures will respond to this also with highs around a cooler 14-17C in the north. Warmer in the southeast corner at 20C and highs around 16-19C elsewhere.

Thursday 2/7/20 Thursday now looks to be the driest of the days this week, however there will be some rain at times, albeit looking light and patchy currently. With weak high pressure now looking more dominant over the UK for the day heavier spells of rain don't look to pose a threat, though do watch the forecast closely for any upcoming change in this. Highs around 16-20C. Highs at 22C in the southeast.

Friday 3/7/20 A largely dry start to Friday before the high pressure gets pushed eastwards over northern Europe by an incoming Atlantic low pressure system. This low will bring spells of rain to the UK along with increased and some blustery winds. Highs around 16-22C.
