Low pressure is the main feature this week as it centres and circulates over the UK bringing outbreaks of rain for many, but with some drier interludes. A more established ridge is expected later in the week forecast to bring drier conditions to many. Staying with an unsettled theme through next week as Atlantic low pressure systems track eastwards sweeping spells of rain across many UK regions. There will be some drier interludes thanks to ridging high pressure. A dry spell looks to become more widespread over the UK later on in the week and into the weekend as a ridge becomes more established.
For the weather for the next few days click here Monday 29/6/20 The south is expected to stay largely dry due to high pressure nudging up into southern counties on Monday. Although, western areas will see showers push in on that blustery westerly wind. Further north and across Northern Ireland as well as northwest England, with low pressure still the main feature, do expect to see longer outbreaks rain, the rain heavy at times across Scotland. Breezy too across northern parts. Highs around 17-21C. Cooler in the northwest at 15C.
Tuesday 30/6/20 There is some uncertainty here but the south of England could see cloudy skies and spells of rain through Tuesday as an Atlantic low pressure tracks eastwards. Further north weak low pressure remains close by allowing showers to develop, particularly on the northern and eastern coasts. It will feel chilly in the far north due to the northeasterly breeze with highs around 13-14C. Highs around 16-21C elsewhere.
Wednesday 1/7/20 The associated front is expedcted to clear southern parts of the UK through the morning but showers are forecast to develop behind as the UK stays under a trough. It is expected to be a largely dry day further north and across much of Ireland and Northern Ireland with sunny spells developing. Highs around 16-20C generally. Warmer in the south at 23C. Cooler in the northeast with highs around 13-14C.
Thursday 2/7/20 By Thursday high pressure looks to start influencing a more widespread drier interlude throughout the UK, although don't rule out showers developing, these mainly across the south. Temperatures similar to yesterday with highs generally around 15-19C. Cooler in the northeast and warmer in the southeast.
Friday 3/7/20 On Friday the high pressure attempts to establish itself over the UK, allowing for a largely dry day across the UK although showers may be slow to clear out across England and Ireland. Scotland looks to see the best of any sunshine currently although confidence is low in the forecast for this at this stage. Highs around 16-20C. Highs at 22C in the southeast. Highs arounds 15-20C.
Saturday 4/7/20 Saturday is forecast to see this ridge of high pressure bring largely widespread dry conditions in the morning before an Atlantic low pressure system is expected to push eastwards and bring spells of rain to Ireland, Northern Ireland and western parts of Britain through Saturday afternoon. Keep an eye on the forecast for timings however as this Atlantic low does show signs of possibly coming in sooner with rain possible for Friday. Highs around 16-21C.
