Still feeling cool north and west Good morning, A ridge of high pressure begins to build from the southwest today, leading to generally better weather through this weekend. A fair amount of cloud affects the country today, although many places will be dry. One or two light showers in the north, drifting in on a cool westerly breeze. Patchy rain most persistent in northwest Scotland.
Some sunshine will break through, best in the south and east, and around coastal districts by afternoon. Sunshine should be more widespread by Sunday. Today's top temperatures reaching 21 to 23C in the London area, 16 to 19C for central-northern England & Wales, 15 to 17C for Scotland & Northern Ireland. Have a great day. Garry
