Cloudy with patchy rain across central areas this morning before turning showery into the afternoon, possibly heavy and thundery in places. Largely dry elsewhere before the next spell of rain is expected to push in overnight. Good morning, Cloud and patchy rain across northern and central parts of England and into East Anglia Thursday morning, with showers developing across central and southern Scotland and parts of Wales. Largely dry elsewhere but with some showers across Ireland and Northern Ireland but the best of any sunny spells developing here as well as in the far southwest of England and far southwest of Wales. Through the afternoon the rain across northern and central parts of England will push out over the North Sea with the potential for slow moving heavy, thundery showers developing across central counties of England. Showers becoming confined to eastern parts of Scotland where they could be heavy too and eastern parts of Northern Ireland. Meanwhile, north and west Scotland and western parts of Northern Ireland and Ireland will see cloud thicken in advance of rain moving in from the Atlantic. Any lingering showers will clear out through the evening to allow for a largely dry start to the night, although cloud will thicken in the west as the next Atlantic low pressure moves in. Rain will then affect western Scotland, nrthern England as well as Northern Ireland and Ireland, heaviest and most prolonged rainfall across southwest Scotland and Northern Ireland as the night progresses. Temperatures falling to around 12 to 15C. Cooler across central Scotland with temperatures falling to 7 to 9C.
