Cloudy skies and showers in the east but largely dry with sunny spells developing elsewhere. Low pressure clears to the east of the UK on Friday but will still bring cloudy skies and some showers to eastern parts of England and Scotland. Elsewhere, with a ridge of high pressure building to the west, expect largely dry and fine conditions here, although showers will develop across Northern Ireland and northern parts of Ireland. This afternoon these showers in the west should die away with sunshine developing thanks to the ridging high. Across eastern parts of England it too should be an improving picture with showers becoming more isolated and sunny spells developing. Northern Scotland looks to hold on to the cloud but showers should gradually fade away. High pressure will build over the UK overnight with any showers fading away to see a largely dry night. Northwestern parts of Scotland, however, will hold on to the cloudier skies with some patchy light rain pushing in later on.
