Unsettled with periods of rain and showers, probably drier next week An unsettled period of weather ahead. Fronts will be bringing spells of showers and rain on several days. The rain is likely to be heaviest in nhe north and west, although just about anywhere could catch a heavy burst of rain. Next week shows signs of higher pressure building bringing some drier days, mostly south and east.
For the weather for the next few days click here Sunday 26/7/20 A complex area of low pressure affects the UK and Ireland through Sunday. This brings sunny spells and fresher weather for all. There will be showers in northern and western areas, some of these will be heavy and may merge into longer spells of rain at times. Fewer showers to the east and south, with the best of the sunny spells here. Highs at 17 to 24C.
Monday 27/7/20 Low pressure remains in control through Monday. Sunny spells and mostly dry in eastern areas. As low pressure swings into the west it will be bringing heavy rain through Ireland and into Wales and England later. Brighter in Scotland with showers, although more rain to the north. Highs at 16 to 23C.
Tuesday 28/7/20 Rain passes eastwards overnight, some of it heavy. That rain continues in the east at first as low pressure passes into the North Sea. It is likely top be turning brighter and drier in Ireland and western parts of the UK through the afternoon. Breezy in the east. Feeling cooler at 14 to 23C.
Wednesday 29/7/20 A ridge of high pressure builds on Wednesday. This gives a fair day with good spells of sunshine for most, the best of them in the west. A risk of some showers in Scotland. Temperatures around 14 to 22C.
Thursday 30/7/20 High pressure is likely to be to the east on Thursday giving another dry day with sunny spells and dry conditions. Thicker cloud in Ireland and the west of the UK bringing some rain. The rain could be heavy in Ireland, although some low cloud and drizzle affecting western coasts and hills. Highs at 15 to 23C. Friday 31/7/20 The ridge of high pressure remains in the east and south giving dry weather and sunny spells. Further outbreaks of rain could affect Ireland and the west of Scotland. Highs at 17 to 24C.
