Week ahead: Warmer & dry weekend - Mixed start, Jul 07 - 08:17

Turning drier through the weekend and early next week, warmer for all Higher pressure builds into this weekend and early into next week. This brings the promise of drier and warmer weather for most, although it will not be dry for all. Before the weekend conditions are more mixed with outbreaks of rain, some heavy.

For the weather for the next few days click here Friday 10/7/20 Low pressure clears into the North Sea on Friday as a ridge of high pressure builds over Ireland. There will be further showers for many and it stays breezy and cool at first. Showers may fall as longer spells of rain in the east in the morning, some of them heavy and thundery. The showers tending to fade in the west where there will be more sunshine, especially in the afternoon. Highs at 14 to 20C.

Saturday 11/7/20 A ridge of high pressure building over the UK and much of England and Wales on Saturday. A front bringing some cloud, drizzle and patchy rain to the west and north of Scotland. Much brighter with sunshine in southern Ireland, Wales, central, southern and eastern England. Lighter winds for all. Highs at 13C in northern Scotland, 20C in southeast England.

Sunday 12/7/20 High pressure over the south of the UK on Sunday. This brings a fair and dry day with some good spells of sunshine. Cloudier skies in northern and western Scotland, some drizzle on the coasts here. Broken cloud and some sunny spells in Ireland. Highs at 26C in southeast England, widely 22 to 25C, 17C in the cloudier parts of Scotland.

Monday 13/7/20 A ridge of high pressure over the south of the UK bringing dry weather here on Monday. Broken cloud and generally dry. The risk of some showery rain in the far north of England and Scotland. A few showers in Ireland. Highs at 25C in southern England, 15C in northern Scotland.

Tuesday 14/7/20 A weak front may bring some cloud and a few showers on Tuesday to England and Wales, although these are likely to be light and patchy. Drier in the west. Sunny spells breaking through the cloud. Highs at 16 to 24C. Wednesday 15/7/20 High pressure brings a dry day to most areas. Broken cloud with some bright or sunny spells for most. Feeling warm too. Highs at 17 to 24C.
