Morning Call: Showers, muggy, rain in west - Thunderstorms, Aug 18 - 05:45

A messy weather day with rain, showers, thunderstorms and some brightness A messy, muggy weather picture across the UK and Ireland today. There are some weak fronts that are affecting western areas bringing some outbreaks of rain into Ireland, western Wales, Northwest England and Southwest Scotland this morning. Brighter for the south and east with some sunny spells to start the day. This afternoon see some heavy showers across central and northern England as well as into Scotland and Northern Ireland. Further scattered heavy showers could affect Southwest England and southern Wales. Probably tending to turn brighter across Southwest England and southern Ireland. Rain and showers will be fading tonight to leave conditions generally dry with some clear spells and mismatches by morning.
