A particularly windy day and wet with heavy and persistent spells of rain in the north and west. Showers, some heavy, elsewhere. Heavy rain will affect Ireland, Northern Ireland as well as west and north Wales and west Scotland overnight Thursday and into Friday morning. During Friday morning, Scotland will see spells of rain spread across the country, heaviest in the south and west. Expect showers or at times longer spells of rain across the rest of England and Wales too. The afternoon will see rain ease for many in the north and west but heavy showers will continue to blow through across Northern Ireland, Ireland and Wales. Scotland will see blustery showers through the afternoon, these heaviest across the west. Expect the showers to continue across the rest of England, some still heavy in the north and west. The far southeast may just stay dry througout or catch just one or two showers. A windy night but winds should gradually ease. There will still be plenty of showers about or longer spells of rain in places, these mainly concentrated across more northern and western areas.
