Conditions will be generally mixed, wet & windy at times Conditions are forecast to be rather mixed through the coming days with another deep area of low pressure forecast to affect the UK and Ireland through the first part of next week. Condititions generally improving for southern and eastern areas thereafter but staying more mixed to the north and west.
For the weather for the next few days click here Tuesday 25/08/20 An unsettled day on Tuesday as a deep area of low pressure tracks eastwards across Ireland and the northern half of the UK. A band of rain, heavy at times, will push east with winds strengthening for all. Gales affecting coastal regions across the UK and Ireland. The far north of Scotland and the Northern Isles may well saty dry but most other areas will see some rain. Behind the rain band expect a mixture of sunny spells and some scattered showers. High temperatures range from 14 to 21C.
Wednesday 26/08/20 Low pressure tracks eastwards and fills while high pressure attempts to build in behind to the southwest. A mostly fine and dry day for Ireland with an improving picture across Wales and southern England. A trailing front could mean that parts of Northern Ireland, southern Scotland and the north of England could hold on to showers or longer spells of rain throughout much of the day and there will be a chilly northerly wind along eastern coasts of the country. Highs at 13C to 22C, cooler to the far north.
Thursday 27/08/20 A largely dry and fine day is expected over the northern half of the British Isles now on Thursday as a transient ridge of high pressure moves across the region. A weak area of low pressure to the southwest brings cloudier skies and patchy outbreaks of rain to Ireland and southern parts of the UK. These may turn heavier through the afternoon and evening. High temperatures range from 14 to 20C.
Friday 28/08/20 An area of low pressure moves to the east across the far south of England bringing outbreaks of rain here, these locally heavy. Across the rest of the UK and Ireland a north to northeasterly flow becomes established bringing cool but mostly dry and bright conditions. High temperatures range from 13 to 19C.
Saturday 29/08/20 Low pressure to the east and high pressure to the west maintain a cool northerly flow on Saturday. Another mostly bright day with isolated showers affecting northern and eastern coastal areas as well as north-facing hills and mountains. Highs range from 14 to 19C. Sunday 30/08/20 Sunday stays mostly dry and fine across much of the UK with higher pressure here however low pressure to the west of Ireland brings increasingly cloudy skies here and for Northern Ireland with rain and strong winds arriving later. Highs range from 13 to 20C.
