In the morning, there will be near gale force winds for the Northern Isles along with outbreaks of showery rain for the north and west of Scotland. Sunny spells and showers across the rest of western areas of the UK and Ireland, drier further east. In the afternoon, sunny spells and showers continuing across Scotland and Northern Ireland. Showers across west Ireland, northwest England and north Wales will push eastwards. Driest conditions across the far south of Ireland and far south of England. Showers largely dying away across eastern parts of the UK and Ireland through the first part of the night before potentially becoming more widespread again across northern and western areas through the early hours. Staying largely dry over central southern England and southeast England.
