Morning Call: Rain sinking south - Windy, Sep 11 - 05:44

Showers or longer spells of rain in the north and west. Windy here too. Some showers spreading east. Dry further south. In the morning, it will be cloudy across Scotland, Northern Ireland as well as north and west Ireland as a band of rain pushes from north to south across these areas. Heavy spells of rain for parts of western Scotland in particular. Strengthening winds too. Western parts of England and Wales will see cloudier skies with some patchy light rain and drizzle on mainly hills but generally dry elsewhere across England as well as southeast Ireland. In the afternoon, the front will weaken somewhat and bring cloudy skies and patchy rain to northern England, mainly western areas, as well as north and west Wales and become widespread across Ireland. Western Scotland will see showers but eastern areas should stay largely dry with sunny spells developing here. Elsewhere across England expect a largely dry afternoon with sunny spells. Overnight, the front, weak by this point, will continue to sink south over southern Ireland, throughout Wales and into southwest England as well as reach central England through the early hours. Showers across west Scotland still as well as some light scattered showers for western Ireland. Dry with clear spells elsewhere.
