Temperatures rise slightly as a more unsettled weather theme develops A change in wind direction heralds a rise in temperatures through the early part of the week though this also brings a more mixed to unsettled weather pattern. Areas of low pressure pass over Ireland and the UK this week bringing widespread wet and windy conditions. Thursday 01/10/20 Rain should clear easternmost parts of the UK through Thursday morning allowing for a largely dry and fine day across eastern and central areas of the UK, although more cloud and rain will push in to southwestern areas and Ireland through the afternoon. Winds will ease for a time but strengthen again in the south in particular as more rain spreads in from the west. High temperatures range from 10 to 15C.
Friday 02/10/20 Staying unsettled with outbreaks of rain, much of this looking to be more across the south and west with the east and potentially the north staying drier. It will be windy to the north with coastal gales for Scotland and the Northern Isles. A cooler-feeling day for all with high temperatures ranging from 9 to 15C.
Saturday 03/10/20 Staying unsettled on Saturday as several areas of low pressure circulate around the British Isles. Widespread wet and windy conditions are expected across the UK and Ireland. Latest indications are that eastern areas would be wetter and that coastal gales are likely. High temperatures at 9 to 14C. Sunday 04/10/20 Staying unsettled into Sunday as low pressure stays nearby. Outbreaks of rain remain widespread however winds start to ease as the low begins to fill up. Maximum temperatures at 9 to 16C. Monday 05/10/20 Indications are that Monday remains unsettled though the low continues to fill. Outbreaks of rain become increasingly confined to the south and winds may pick up again briefly here. Highs at 10 to 16C. Tuesday 06/10/20 Tuesday may see low pressure moving over the North Sea though a trailing front may continue to bring rain to western and southern parts of the British Isles. Winds ease and some good spells of sunshine develop. Highs of 12 to 16C.
