Patchy rain in east slowly clearing, drier in the west and brighter too Rather cloudy with some outbreaks of showers rain across the far southeast this morning. Rain too in southeast Scotland and perhaps over the high ground of northern England. Drier for Ireland and western Scotland as well as west Wales and western England. This afternoon sees any cloud and rain fading from eastern England and eastern Scotland. All areas should then become drier and there could be some bright or sunny spells developing during this afternoon. Tonight starts dry for most but cloud and rain as well as strong winds passing into Ireland. The rain reaches western coasts of Scotland and Wales by morning.
