A deep area of low pressure brings very wet and windy conditions to southern parts of the UK today. Coastal gales are likely while some downpours may be locally very heavy. Rain spreads into the Midlands and Wales later while much of Scotland, Ireland and Northern Ireland see a fine day with just occasional showers. Good Morning,
Starting wet and very windy across southern parts of England and the far south of Wales with coastal gales in these areas. Rain could be locally very heavy. Early rain clears from northern Scotland to leave a largely dry and fine morning across Ireland, Northern Ireland, Scotland and the north of England though there is a chance of showers developing for some.
Rain spreads across the Midlands and into Wales through the afternoon and southern portions of the UK stay windy too. Locally heavy bursts are especially likely for southern areas. Increasingly windy too across eastern Ireland though it stays mostly fine here and for Northern Ireland and Scotland too.
Continuing wet and windy for the southern half of England and for eastern Wales into Friday evening. Largely dry and fine though for Scotland, Northern Ireland and Ireland.
Have a good day!
Claire
