A cold week, showers in the east but drier and brighter in the west Weather conditions are going to be staying cold through this week courtesy of a northeast wind afecting the country. Thursday 15/10/20 High pressure to the north of Scotland on Thursday with an east to northeast flow across the UK and Ireland. There will be broken cloud and a risk of some spots of rain, mostly in central and eastern areas. Tending to be brighter in western England and Wales as well as western Scotland. Eastern Ireland will be bright with some sunny spells, but increasing cloud and rain as well as stronger winds in western Ireland. Temperaures at 8 to 12C for most, 14C in western Ireland.
Friday 16/10/20 High pressure to the north of Scotland on Friday. Low pressure to the west of Ireland. Sunny spells in northern and eastern areas and tending to be dry. More cloud in western parts of the UK and Ireland with a risk of some rain across western and southern Ireland as well as the far southwest of England. Winds picking up in Ireland too. Tops at 9 to 14C.
Saturday 17/10/20 Low pressure southwest of Ireland on Saturday with higher pressure to the north. Cloud and some outbreaks of rain may affect southwest England. Cloud and some spots of rain in eastern Scotland and over the coasts of northeast England. Broken cloud and some bright or sunny spells elsewhere, the best sunshine in the west of Scotland. Tops at 9 to 12C. Sunday 18/10/20 A cold day with higher pressure to the north and a ridge extending across the UK and Ireland. Broken cloud and the risk of some spots of rain north and east. Drier to the south and west. Highs at 8 to 11C. Monday 19/10/20 Low pressure to the southwest of Ireland with a south to southeast flow affecting all parts. Stronger winds may affect Ireland and southwestern parts of the UK with a risk of rain. Drier to the north and east although broken cloud in all areas. Highs at 10 to 14C. Tuesday 20/10/20 Lower pressure brings an unsettled and breezy day across most of the UK and Ireland. There will be periods of rain, most to the west and south and some of this could be heavy. Less rain in the east. Highs at 11 to 15C.
