UK Forecast: A colder day - Snow in north, Feb 01 - 15:44

Tuesday A much cooler day across all parts of the United Kingdom and Ireland on Tuesday. There will be frequent sleet and snow showers affecting western Scotland,these bringing blizzard conditions to high ground of Scotland during the day. Further showers over Northwest England, Western Wales and Ireland turning increasingly to sleet and snow over the hills. More eastern and southern areas will be drier and brighter tests, although there could be some thicker cloud and outbreaks of rain affecting southern coast of England at first. A windy day across the north with severe gales in Scotland. Temperatures rising to 3�°C in northern Scotland, 8�°C in southern England but feeling much cooler in the wind.

Tuesday Night Further sleet and snow showers in Scotland overnight with the risk of some more frequent showers affecting Northwest England, Western and northern Wales and Northern Ireland. An odd wintry shower may also trouble eastern Scotland and the far north-east of England. Elsewhere the night should be dry with some clear spells although breezy. That breeze helping to keep temperatures above freezing with lows between one and 3�°C.

Wednesday Wednesday sees a weak range of high pressure building from the west during the day. Any morning showers over more western areas will be fading quickly. Some reasonable spells of sunshine across many areas in the morning although cloud will be increasing from the west in the afternoon. Outbreaks of rain arriving in western Ireland by evening, But dry elsewhere. Temperatures reaching a cool 4 to 8�°C.

Thursday A warm front passes eastwards overnight into Thursday bringing cloud and rain. It leaves behind a cloudy and damp morning for many on Thursday, most of any drizzle all rain falling over high ground. There is likely to be plenty of hill and coastal fog around Western and southern coasts. The afternoon stays rather cloudy for many with drizzle on the hills, although where sheltered from the south-west wind a few bright spells may occur. More persistent rain affecting Northwest Scotland. A windy day for western Scotland and for Ireland. Much milder than recently with temperatures at 9 to 13�°C.
