Monday 22/02/16 A cold front clears southwards, leaving chilly north-westerly winds across Britain & Ireland. Local gales in exposed north-east. Plenty of sunshine in the morning, but wintry showers across northern regions will become increasingly widespread through the day, spreading across Wales & the Midlands - hail and isolated thunder. Frequent snow over the northern Scottish Highlands, although south-east Scotland stays largely dry. Feeling cool, highs 4 to 8C.
Tuesday 23/02/16 Pressure briefly builds, leading to a clear and frosty start to Tuesday. A bright and largely dry day is likely, with north-westerly winds easing, although remaining brisk near east coasts. Local wintry showers may clip East Anglia, and a few may also affect north Wales & NW England at first. Fronts are likely to return from the west before dark, thickening cloud, and rain developing across Ireland later. Staying cool, highs 5 to 8C.
Wednesday 24/02/16 Some uncertainty about detail, but fronts are expected to return across the country from the west. Cloud and outbreaks of rain spreading eastwards. Occasional bright spells. Some snow over higher hills in the north. Breezy, and fairly cool, but the south may become milder. Highs 6 to 10C.

Likely to remain unsettled, with areas of rain or showers. Cold in the north with risk of snow. Temperatures 4 to 8C. Saturday 27/02/16 Low confidence: Pressure may briefly build, leaving bright and chilly conditions. Risk belts of wintry showers, perhaps locally frequent. Highs 4 to 7C.
