A mixed weekend with rising temperatures Mixed weather as we head into the weekend. There will be some rain, mostly in the west and north. However, the south to southeast wind will be serving to lift temperatures and so it will be feeing milder than recently. Lower confidence in the forecast for next week with several different scenarios possible, but generally cooler and more unsettled weather is expected.
For the weather for the next few days click here Saturday 2/4/16 High pressure to the east on Saturday with low pressure to the west. A south to southeast flow is going to be bringing a front across Ireland and southern Scotland. This gives cloud and rain in these areas, some of it heavy at times, and perhaps affecting parts of northern England too. Drier in the far north of Scotland with some sunny spells here. A milder and drier day in southern and southeast England too, a few sunnier spells forming as the day wears on. Highs at 10 to 16C.
Sunday 3/4/16 Some uncertainty, but low pressure likely centred across western regions, promoting a fairly warm southerly pattern, but also bringing areas of slow moving heavy showers. Possibility of thunderstorms moving up from Biscay and France, which may widely affect the south & south-west as the day progresses. Drier toward the east & north-east, with some sunshine. Highs 11 to 16C, warmest east & south.
Monday 4/4/16 Slack pressure is likely to reside across Britain & Ireland. The presence of unstable air across the country means further showery weather is likely. A risk of thunder with some warm sunshine between the showers. Temperatures 11 to 15C.
Tuesday 5/4/16 Low confidence of detail on Tuesday. Showery conditions are likely to continue, mixed with sunny spells. A westerly breeze may freshen. Becoming slightly cooler. Highs 10 to 14C. Wednesday 6/4/16 Confidence remains low in the forecast for Wednesday. Current thoughts are that the more mixed conditions are set to continue. There will be showers or longer spells of rain, but some brighter spells too. Highs at 7 to 15C. Thursday 7/4/16 Little change on Thursday with confidence remaining low. There will be some sunny spells but showers as well. Most of the showers in northern parts. Highs at a cooler 7 to 12C.
