UK Forecast: Rain in north - Scattered showers south, Apr 13 - 08:02

Wednesday A cloudy morning across the far northeast of England, eastern and southern Scotland as well as Northern Ireland. THere will be some outbreaks of rain here, most in the east. Drier for northern Scotland although rather breezy. Drier too in the rest of England and Wales with some bright spells coming through. The afternoon sees further outbreaks of rain in the far northeast of England, eastern and southern Scotland. Scattered showers in England and Wales. Tops at 9 to 16C.

Wednesday Night Scattered showers fading overnight. Eastern parts of Scotland and England may have further low cloud and some drizzle, but overall it should be dry with sunny spells. Thicker cloud and some rain reaching southern Ireland and southwest England later in the night. Lows at 2 to 6C.

Thursday Low pressure to the southwest of Ireland will be edging eastwards through the day on Thursday. This pushes cloud and rain across southern Ireland and into the south and southwest of England as well as southern Wales,l although perhaps not until later in the day. Eastern coasts of England and Scotland are likely to be starting rather murky with drizzle or patchy rain. This should slowly lift. Western and northern Scotland as well as the rest of England, Wales and Ireland should be brighter and mostly dry with some sunny spells breaking through. Highs at 7C in northern Scotland, 16C in southern England.

Friday Low pressure to the east and south of the UK and Ireland on Friday bringing a cool, showery day for many. There could be some heavy showers or longer spells of rain in England and Wales, the showers tending to be lighter in northern and eastern Scotland although falling as snow on hills here. A few brighter spells elsewhere. Highs at 5C in northern Scotland, 13C in southern England.
