Turning drier through the weekend and into next week but staying chilly After an unsettled end to the week conditions should begin to improve as we go through the weekend. There will be showers to the north, these wintry over Scottish hills. Becoming drier into the new week with high pressure trying to become established over the country. This brings fair weather and sunny spells to many. However, low pressure is never far away to the south with the risk of stronger winds and some rain or showers here.
For the weather for the next few days click here Saturday 16/4/16 Low pressure s the the east on Saturday with higher pressure to the west. The north to northwest flow bringing showers, some wintry over Scotland and northern England. Drier to the south with some bright or sunny spells here, but always the threat of showers on eastern coasts. Perhaps drier to the south and west in the afternoon with sunny spells. Highs at 5 to 11C and feeling chilly for all.
Sunday 17/4/16 High pressure may edge a little further eastwards on Sunday, although low pressure to the east maintains the cold northerly flow here. A few showers on eastern coasts and hills, but tending to be drier further west. Tops at 8 to 11C.
Monday 18/4/16 An area of high pressure may become centred to the west and south of the UK and Ireland on Monday. This brings dry weather to many parts of the country, although still some showery outbreaks of rain in northern Scotland. Highs at 8 to 13C.
Tuesday 19/4/16 The high pressure continues to affect most of the country on Tuesday. However, a northwesterly flow in the North Sea will be bringing some showers to northern and eastern Scotland, as well as eastern England. Drier and brighter to the west and south. Highs at 8 to 14C.
Wednesday 20/4/16 High pressure is to the northeast of Scotland on Wednesday. Low pressure is to the south and and easterly flow is maintained for many. Showers and rain may affect the far west and south, with the north and east dry and sunny. Highs at 10 to 16C. Thursday 21/4/16 Low confidence in the forecast for Thursday. There may be some cloud and outbreaks of rain in the far south of the UK, but drier and fairer elsewhere. Best of the sunshine in Scotland. Highs at 10 to 16C.
