UK Forecast: Gales in far north - Warm, best sun in south, Aug 06 - 16:28

Sunday Increasingly windy with gale force south westerly winds across Northern Ireland and northern Scotland. Gusts to 55 mph to affect the north west of Scotland. A lot of cloud across Britain for the morning that could give a few sots of drizzly rain to south west England and Wales. The cloud across England and Wales breaks to give some afternoon sunshine. In the afternoon and area of moderate to heavy rain spills into western Scotland and Northern Ireland. Expect maximum temperatures of 18 to 24 Celsius.

Sunday night Strong winds to affect Northern Ireland, Scotland and northern parts of England into the evening and night. Wet across Scotland and Northern Ireland and this rain spreads down into northern England and Wales in the evening. Overnight the rain becomes light and patchy as it drifts into Wales and south west England. Heavy showers to come for western Scotland tonight. Expect minimums of 11 to 16 Celsius.

Monday A bit fresher across the country today with brisk winds from the north west. A lot of cloud to come today and there is a risk of scattered showers, these most likely to affect western parts of Scotland, western Wales, western England and Northern Ireland. Any showers soon fade leaving a fine evening. A dry night to come across the country with clear spells. Expect top temperatures of 15 to 21 Celsius.

Tuesday We expect a good deal of fair dry weather to come for Tuesday but lots of cloud. This may produce a few scattered showers, again these most likely across western parts of Britain. In the evening outbreaks of rain come in across northern Scotland with the rest of the country dry. Overnight that rain is expected to spill into all of Scotland, into Northern Ireland and northern England. Expect top temperatures of 14 to 21 Celsius.
