Week ahead: Showery at first - Most rain west & north, Jul 27 - 12:15

Often breezy, fresher than recently A changeable weekend ahead, with strong winds and some heavy rain. A mixed, showery picture into early next week, then things should settle down again. The warmest weather always in the south-east, but nowhere near as hot as recent days. For the weather for the next few days click here

Monday 30/07/18 Low pressure will lie to the north-west of the British Isles, promoting a south to southwesterly breeze, strongest in the west & north-west. Clusters of showers, most frequent for the north and west of Britain and Ireland, whilst the Midlands and south-east will be commonly dry with scattered passing showers and periods of sunshine. Chance of local heavy or thundery downpours. A fresh feel, 17 to 22C for many, up to 26C in the far south-east.

Tuesday 31/07/18 Staying breezy in the west and north, with further showers possible. Localised showers for central and southern areas, but many places staying dry with some sunshine. Warmest in the far south-east, up to 25C, but nearer 18 to 22C for most.

Wednesday 01/08/18 Variable cloud with occasional showery rain in the west and north. Generally dry and bright toward the south and east. Breezy again for northern areas, lighter winds and sea breezes in the south. Highs 17 to 26C, warmest south-east.

Thursday 02/08/18 Much uncertainty of detail, with a few clusters of showers or locally some organised rain, but many places may be dry all day. Lighter winds for all. Warming up, 24 to 28C south, but fresh in Scotland & Northern Ireland, 17 to 21C. Friday 03/08/18 High pressure is expected to build across the country, bringing plenty of dry weather and sunshine. Isolated showers possible. Highs 23 to 28C. Saturday 04/08/18 Most likely dry and sunny for most places, with warmest temperatures in the south. Highs 23 to 28C.
