Blustery winds; gales south-western coasts tonight Good morning, An unsettled day with low pressure across the country. Various fronts and troughs will drift north-eastwards, producing heavy and persistent rain followed by clusters of showers. Some brighter and sunny intervals for England and Wales in the middle of the day, but it may not stay dry for long, because local heavy bursts with isolated thunder are expected to spread from the south-west through the afternoon. A blustery day with gusty southwesterlies, strongest around coasts and during showers. East or south-easterly winds affect northern Scotland and Shetland.
Another area of low pressure moves in quickly from the Atlantic by Saturday night, with winds strengthening to gale force in the south-west and another batch of heavy rain setting in overnight. Fresher air arrives for all - today's top temperatures only 25C in the south-east, and nearer 18 to 22C for many. Have a great day. Garry
