Morning Call: Cooler - Showers & sunny spells, May 27 - 05:44

Feeling cooler today with a mixture of showers, outbreaks of rain and some sunny spells Good morning, A rather mixed start to the day today. A band of heavy rain will be affecting the northern part of the island of Ireland while a separate system will be bringing rain to eastern parts of Scotland. Some showers for western Ireland, northwestern England and north Wales too first thing. Elsewhere it should be dry with a mixture of cloudy skies and sunny spells.

Through the morning rain will spread southward into central parts of Ireland while it will ease for eastern Scotland. Showers continuing to affect Scotland and northern parts of England and Wales. Sunny spells elsewhere.

Rain will continue across much of the island of Ireland through the afternoon with the exception of the far northeast while showers will merge over Scotland to give some heavier bursts of rain for northern and central areas. Showers also merging over western Wales to give prolonged bursts of rain while showers will spread southeastward across England reaching the Midlands and East Anglia. High temperatures widely at 13 to 16C. Cooler in the north of Scotland at just 10 or 11C, warmer in the southeast of England at 17 to 19C. Have a great Bank Holiday Monday and don't forget your brolly! Claire
