Week ahead: Mixed conditions at first - Becoming settled later, Jul 05 - 08:42

Changeable Atlantic patterns prevail through the early part of the week A strong jet stream brings mixed conditions to the British Isles through the first part of this coming week. There are indications in the forecast however of higher pressure building from the west through the later part of the week and into the weekend bringing a spell of more settled, drier weather. For the weather for the next few days click here

Wednesday 08/07/20 An area of low pressure clears to the east from the southern UK through Wednesday morning but trails fronts through southern parts of England, Wales and Ireland that bring patchy outbreaks of rain here for much of the day. A brighter day for much of Scotland, Northern Ireland, northern England and northern Ireland but with a scattering of showers affecting these areas at times. Highs at 16 to 23C.

Thursday 09/07/20 A bit of uncertainty surrounds Thursdays forecast at the moment. It could be that another area of low pressure passes eastward over the British Isles taking outbreaks of rain with it while higher pressure builds in behind it from the west bringing increasingly dry and bright conditions here. Highs of 15 to 23C.

Friday 10/07/20 Early showers linger over eastern parts of the UK as low pressure clears over mainland Europe. High pressure builds in from the west across the country bringing dry and sunny conditions to much of Ireland and the west of the UK. High temperatures at 18 to 26C.

Saturday 11/07/20 Saturday may see high pressure build over the British Isles, centred over the Irish Sea. This brings a mostly dry and fine day to the region. Cloudier skies over southwestern parts of the UK while other areas may see isolated showers develop. Highs of 14 to 22C. Sunday 12/07/20 Sunday sees high pressure shift eastward to be centred just east of the UK. This brings another mostly dry and fine day to the UK and Ireland. A slight chance of isolated showers developing. Highs of 16 to 24C. Monday 13/07/20 High pressure may shift further to the east on Monday allowing cloud to build over Ireland and into western parts of the UK. Some patchy rain may arrive here later. Dry and fine for eastern Scotland as well as much of England and Wales. Highs of 18 to 24C.
