Spells of rain in the north and west this week before high pressure sets in for all. Mainly dry conditions and hotting up across England. Mainly dry, fine and becoming hot in the south. Spells of rain passing over northern and western areas through much of the week as well as on Saturday, before high pressure builds in over the whole of the UK creating dry conditions for most into next week. Thursday 06/08/20 Cloudier skies and outbreaks of rain first thing on Thursday across northern England, western and central Scotland as well as parts of Wales. The rain will clear and it will turn more showery over these areas during the day. Elsewhere, it will be largely dry and fine with plenty of sunny spells. Ireland and Northern Ireland will start mostly dry and fine before cloud thickens and showers develop into the afternoon. Southern places in that sunshine could see temperatures climb to very warm highs at 29C, even 30C in the southeast. Temperatures around 22C further north and west.
Friday 07/08/20 A dry and fine day with plenty of sunshine across England and largely across Wales. Feeling very warm or even hot as the high temperatures stick around. The north and west, however, will be under more cloud with showers developing or even longer spells of rain across more western parts of Ireland as a trough deepens into a more organised area of low pressure. Western parts of Wales could see cloudier skies but stay mostly dry. Temperatures in low 30s across southern and eastern England and highs around 24C further north and 21C over Ireland and Northern Ireland.
Saturday 08/08/20 Models are now suggesting that this area of low pressure will continue to deepen as it tracks across Scotland and northern England bringing outbreaks of rain to northern and western parts of the British Isles. The rain will clear from the west and southwest through the day allowing drier weather to develop behind. Across central and southern England expect a mainly dry and fine day and feeling hot and humid once again. Highs at 31C in the south and southeast, highs of 25C further north and 20C over Scotland and Ireland.
Sunday 09/08/20 Rain will clear northern Scotland through the morning as high pressure builds over the British Isles allowing for a dry and fine day for all places with plenty of sunshine about. There is just the risk of some isolated showers developing over Ireland however later on. Temperatures a tad cooler today as a northerly wind direction comes about with highs of 26C in the south and 18C further north. Monday 10/08/20 High pressure still in charge for the start of the new week with plenty of dry and fine conditions had throughout the day. Maybe more in the way of cloud across western Ireland. Highs of 25C in the south and 18C further north. Tuesday 11/08/20 High pressure still giving mainly dry conditions although western Scotland and western Ireland as well as Northern Ireland will see cloud build and outbreaks of rain push in. Highs of 25C in the south and 19C further north.
