Week ahead: Warm this week - Some thunderstorms, Jun 05 - 09:12

Increasingly unsettled from next weekend Warm and humid conditions over the next few days will trigger areas of thunderstorms, although these quite hit an miss in nature. Toward the weekend, rain encroaches from the west, and turning increasingly unsettled going forwards. For the weather for the next few days click here

Wednesday 08/06/16 High pressure to the north, and slack pressure across the country. A warm and humid day. Sunshine and broken cloud. Risk of scattered heavy showers or thunderstorms breaking out into the afternoon. Light easterly winds, coastal sea breezes. Risk fog around some coasts, mainly east and perhaps south. Top temperatures 21 to 24C, cooler near the coast, particularly in the east, where only around 16C.

Thursday 09/06/16 Little change in the weather pattern. High pressure to the north-east. Many areas dry. Variable cloud, some sunshine. Risk of patchy rain or the odd heavy shower in western regions. Eastern and southern coasts may remain dull with fog patches. Light south-easterly winds, coastal sea breezes. Highs 20 to 24C, warmest west, cooler eastern coasts, nearer 16C.

Friday 10/06/16 Fronts begin to edge in from the Atlantic, bringing the risk of some rain to west & north-western regions, perhaps triggering a local thundery burst for central parts. The south & east may well escape with a dry and warm day. Light southerly winds, sea breezes near the coasts. Highs 19 to 23C.

Saturday 11/06/16 Fronts toward the north-west bring the risk of rain, and cloudy skies for much of western Britain. Risk of rain becoming increasingly widespread. Some dry and sunny weather may hold on toward the south-east. Highs 17 to 23C. Sunday 12/06/16 Low pressure moving in from the Atlantic is expected to make further inroads across the country, bringing an increasing threat of rain becoming widespread. Some heavy bursts at times. Winds freshening. Highs 16 to 21C. Monday 13/06/16 Detail uncertain, but low pressure across the country is likely to bring an unsettled day, with areas of rain or heavy showers. Blustery for some. Cooler, highs 15 to 19C.
